BMW M8 - complete with the V12 that ended up in the McLaren F1
The BMW 8-Series sat at the top of the BMW range throughout the 1990s, a two door BMW Coupe with a V8 or V12 engine. But despite sitting as the halo model in the BMW range it never spawned the ultimate version – the BMW M8. Except it did.
Lincoln introduced its hoity-toity Black Label Collection at Pebble Beach on Thursday. In the words of Jim Farley, “The new Lincoln Motor Company is built on three foundational elements -- design, quality and personal service; Black Label represents our highest expression of these elements.”
Lincoln says its Black Label dealers will collaborate to create a personal, integrated client shopping and ownership experience, with respect for the luxury of time. We're not sure exactly what that means, but if the dealers can pick up the cars for gas, a wash and some fast food, that would be great.
Rolls-Royce will launch its new Wraith coupé model at this year's Geneva motor show, thought to be a dramatic fastback based on the Ghost. The carmaker's CEO, Torsten Müller-Ötvös, announced the news this morning at the company's World Dealer Conference in London, claiming that the Wraith will have "the boldest design, the most dramatic performance" and be the most powerful model yet. The Wraith will shape the future of Rolls-Royce and build on the success of Ghost and Phantom.
